The Audi Steering Rack
The electric steering rack of the Audi often fails. This unit has many mechanical problems, as well as problems with the failure of the control unit.
As with any steering unit, the problems of breakage of the steering rack most often occurs due to worn out rubber boot ends, the ingress of dirt, moisture of any reagent onto the internal mechanism of the steering rack.
Lateral impacts on the pavements lead to a breakdown of the steering shaft, wear of the bearings, the appearance of grinding and rustling.
The steering rack control module fails either due to a shock from impact or water ingress.
Repairing the steering rack of the Audi after a side impact is very difficult to carry out, sometimes the repair is delayed up to 3 days.
There are cases when the steering rack cannot be restored at all, the mechanical components are rusted and moss has grown on the board. In such cases, the issue is solved by completely replacing the rack.
Our specialists repair the Audi electric rail; repairs include: replacement of the bearings, replacement of the steering rack rod (if necessary), replacement of the electronic part of the control unit, washing, drying, assembly.
Repair of the Audi electric rail usually takes 4-5 hours.
